Confession: I hate those plaid shorts that are the craze right now. I don't think people should plaster a pattern like that across their behinds. My friend, Janis, and I were at the mall earlier this summer and plaid shorts were everywhere. I was beginning to think that no bum is safe from plaid fever. (Plus, Janis said she tried some on earlier in the week. Thank goodness they were to big!) I confided in Janis about my plaid short problem. She laughed but I really was serious! You should only be allowed to wear those if you are a size 1 or smaller. Yep, I hate those things! In fact, I have a borderline plaid phobia.
I held my tongue when Lex and I were shopping. They had a whole bunch of plaid shorts in the girls section. I didn't want to make her feel bad if she liked them. Anyone who knows my girl also knows she has a very independent fashion sense. So, when she came out of the dressing room with a bunch of plaid shorts and handed them to the dressing room attendant I said, "Didn't those fit?"
I can't tell you how happy I was when she said, "Mom, they just looked weird on me. I'll get a pair if you really like them." I smiled and thought to myself... No, you wonderful, intelligent child. You can have anything you want in this entire store! As long as it isn't plaid shorts!

That is freaking hilarious! Go Lexa! I agree, Marion, there are very few people in this world who can make plaid look good. While I have no doubt Lexa would have been one of those people, perhaps it is still for the best that she not wear them (we wouldn't want you to have an attack!)
YOu are so funny. I dont like them either. My sister got some and I didnt have the heart to tell her that it looked just awful.
She has been trying to loose weight and she did and as her reward she bought herself some of them.

Oh to be a size one and be able to pull off the oh-so-sexy plaid shorts . . a girl can dream. However, when I'm a size one (see fitness challenge) they will not be shorts, but plaid golf pants. Wish me luck!
