Yep, it was one of those days...
I was about to rush them out the door to school when I realized that we had been visited by Ralph the Night Hairdresser again. Plus, Lexa was wearing Brady's old jersey which she is not allowed to wear to school because it shows her belly button. The girl absolutely loves it and has tried to sneak off to school in it three different times already this year. Anybody out there an S.S. fan?
(Go Rams!)
So, a word or two about Jet's hair. It is impossible. It has a mind of it's own. It sticks up around the crown of his head at all times. I've used every kind of hair product on it and just when I think it is laying down, little peices of hair start popping up one by one. He wanted to grow it out this summer so I let him. I thought it might actually lay down but look at it!
So, I was having the usual battle with his rooster tail this morning when he told me that I shouldn't worry about his hairs sticking up because they are all just excited for their turn at the microphone. I didn't think I heard him right. So, I asked him to clarify and this is what he told me:
"My hairs have lots of things they like to do but mostly they like to stand at the microphone and tell knock-knock jokes. So at school I just sit and listen to them tell funny knock-knock jokes and it isn't so boring. Don't worry mom, on Sunday they have church and they stand at the microphone and tell their testimonies. And when I have a snarl in my hair, that is when they've been doing jujitsu."
At that moment, I thought I had won the battle with his crazy mop. Each hair was smoothly glued in place. And as I went to grab the hairspray, of course, pop, pop, pop, they started sticking up. Jet has his father's sense of humor and so without missing a beat he says,
"Knock-knock."

Can I just tell you how much I love your daughter and her freakin awesome fashion sense and your son and his adorable sense of humor! Ya know, you once told me that you had Jet just for me so can you do me a favor and ask him if he'll be my boyfriend? Honestly, could a girl do any better than that?? I think not.
What a funny thing for him to say! Matty's hair is like that which is why I have to keep it so short.
You have teh funniest family on the planet. Jet's sense of humor is incredible, but don't you dare give Brady all the credit for that! And Lexa's shirt is great. (Not that I'd let her wear it to school either - you're such a good mom.) SSHS Rules. Go Rams!
I wonder if Jet could come over to my house in the morning and tell me what my hair is trying to say to me. He is so darn cute!
