MY OTHER CAR IS A BROOM!

Janis, Marsha, Jenn, Me, Rachel, Maria
(I think this was in 2006.)

These are some of my friends from high school. We were all seated at the same table during our last class reunion. After realizing that our houses were within driving distance of each other, we decided to make getting together a regular thing. This picture was taken in October, hence the witch costumes. I'm laughing like crazy right now. Isn't it funny? A bunch of 20 somethings dressing up for a Halloween party. But you know what? It was so much fun! So when I found this photo, I wanted to put it on my blog.
We are all 30 somethings now and I'm happy to say that we'd probably still dress up as witches at the drop of a hat!

I think a lot of people who know me have heard me talk about Janis. She's the single, hip one of the bunch. (We've been best friends since we were 14.)

I want to do a little show-and-tell about a fitness challenge that Janis has started for us. I'm really proud of her for putting the whole thing together. We even have a blog about it. Everybody reports in each Wednesday. We set our own milestones according to what we want to get out of the challenge. A really fun perk is that we pay ourselves for working out and the money goes into a savings account so we can go on a cruise or something at the end of next summer.

You can check the blog out at http://yayasgotoparadise.blogspot.com

I thought I should write about the fitness challenge because I think it is a good idea for any group of friends to try. And it doesn't have to be fitness. It can be anything that you need. Maybe you just need to have a reason to dress up and go out once a month. Maybe you need someone to scrapbook with. Maybe you need a friend to have a heart to heart with.

My point is...Some of the happiest women I know are the ones who have good relationships with other women. Many of them are really close with their mom and sisters, others have lifelong friends that they lean on.

We need each other ladies. Women have a divine nature. We nurture those around us. Think about it, we each nurture in our own way. Don't we all read our friends' blogs and make encouraging comments on their posts? I realize I'm bordering on the line of cheesy here. But it's really hard to have a good self image in our world. Having friends who love you inside and out is an absolute necessity.

I'm sorry to say that it took me awhile to figure out how important my friends are to me. I lived in Newlywed Bliss for along time and then I was in Mommy La La Land. Well, I'm here in Reality Now, and I just wanted to tell you, if you don't have girlfriends, get some!

P.S. Here is a shout out to my Ya Ya Sisters! I love you, GIRLFRIENDS!

You are so sweet. I am so glad you have your YA YA sisterhood. I want one but I would really only have four people in it. Well that would want to be in it.
I am glad that you guys can have a fun GNO. Also did you know that Gardner Village does a Witches Night out and Young and Old women come and dress up eat YUMMY soups and have a blast. Anyways maybe your sisters would want to go and have a night on the town.
Love ya and I consider you one of my closest friends \.
