(Before we start, these pictures were taken by Karla, not me)
The other day, Brady and I were out for a drive. We had just dropped the kids at school and decided to head toward the lake. A thick fog was hovering over the ground and the closer we got to the lake, the more beautiful it was. The branches of the trees were all glazed with ice. Their dark trunks stood out because everything around them was white. several birds were sitting on a chain link fence that looked like it was made of crystal. I instantly wished that I had brought my camera with me.
The trees reminded me of the ice storms in North Carolina. They would hit with a fury that I had never experienced before moving there. In a matter of minutes, ice would cover everything. But such intense weather, as scary as it was, seemed to me, to be one of mother nature's great accomplishments. A world covered in ice is undeniably beautiful. Especially when the morning sun shines down on it.
Today, I looked on her blog and what do you know...she had a new post titled "For MJ." Here are a couple of the pics she took down by the lake. Thank you, Karla! You made my day!
