I have to write about a comment I heard when Brady and I were helping with Jet's class Halloween party. There was an assortment of little princesses and superheroes running from station to station. One girl was dressed up as a cheerleader. She was a cute little thing, at least I thought so until she proudly announced, "I'm a cheerleader from the 90's!!" That comment stopped me dead in my tracks because I was a cheerleader in the 90's.
Could it be that I'm old enough to have children dressing up as something I used to be? Now, if I were a doctor or a scientist I wouldn't really mind. Honestly, I wouldn't even have given the cheerleader costume a second thought. But a cheerleader FROM THE 90's !?! That phrase makes it sound like the 90's were so long ago...
Like the 90's were way back then when nobody had ipods yet and people still listened to tapes. She made it sound like the Internet was just catching on back then and most people didn't have a cell phone capable of surfing the net (if they had a cell phone at all). From the tone in her voice you'd think people didn't do much texting in the 90's and that blogging wasn't a word that everybody recognized and neither was facebook. You'd think the 90's were in another century or something...
OK, so maybe all of those things are true, but the 90's were just a few years ago...right?
Now that I've gotten that off of my chest, Here are some of my favorite Halloween pics.
